PROJECT OVERVIEW
A website and a web application are both accessed through a web browser, but they serve different purposes. A website is a collection of web pages that provide information or promote a company, organization, or individual. Websites usually contain static content, such as text, images, and videos, that are designed to be consumed by visitors. On the other hand, a web application is a dynamic software program that is designed to perform specific tasks, such as processing payments, managing inventory, or providing online services. Web applications often have interactive features, require user input, and can be customized to meet specific needs. While a website can be thought of as an online brochure, a web application is a functional tool that is used to accomplish a particular task.
The overall goal for this project was to fully build a service web application from start to end from a user's endpoint. Some projects in our class possibly required different endpoints. Some needed checkout flows, scheduling flows, appointment flows, and delivery flows.
For mine, I decided to choose a music service application that was focused around video game music. I watch a lot of videos online and I always hear this genre within video content creators' videos or streams. I wanted to create a web application that allows these people to not only find and play their favorite music in the background of their content, but also learn about the copyright information for that music so that can adjust accordingly.
IDEAS + PLANNING
The process for this project was a little different. Thinking about how I wanted the flow of this web application to work, there weren't too many different pages per se. I wanted to make a simple concept that allows the user to know exactly where each feature was without overwhelming the user with options. By condensing the main features of the web application to a handful of pages that are easy to navigate, it became much more fun to plan out.
FINAL SOLUTION
Chiptune™ is a web application that allows video game lovers to browse and discover their favorite songs from their favorite games. Users can use the "Browse" feature to discover new genres of both games, songs, and soundtracks to elevate their listening + streaming experience. This web application also allows you to view different gaming companies and view their copyright information regarding their songs and soundtracks.
